Between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, thousands of kilometres from Europe, stretches one of the most fascinating wine lands of the New World.
Chile has everything it needs to guard its wine secrets — a harsh desert to the north, towering mountains to the east, ocean breezes to the west, and glaciers to the south. This natural isolation creates a unique world for the vine.
The story begins as far back as the 16th century, when Spanish colonisers brought the first vines. Centuries later, French varieties and European wine traditions transformed the face of local winemaking.
But among the vineyards, one mystery remained…
Carmenère — the near-extinct Bordeaux variety that grew in Chile for over 100 years, mistaken for Merlot. It wasn't until 1994 that the truth was revealed.
Today, Carmenère has made Chile its new home and has become one of the country's defining symbols.
🍇 And now it's time to taste this story.
A special Chilean wine tasting awaits us, where we will journey through the history, grape varieties, and wine regions of Chile — from the first vineyards to modern winemaking.
We will taste a curated selection of wines, discover how the Andes, the ocean, and the climate shape their character — and, of course, dedicate special attention to Carmenère, the variety whose story reads almost like a wine mystery.
Expect wine, history, fascinating discoveries, and a journey to Chile — without ever leaving the tasting room.
